The photo on the left is a beautiful black and white silk material with roses and a peacock sort of motif that I found lying in the garage. I thought it was just a very long beautiful scarf. The lighting was very poor and I couldn't see well. When I got it home, I found out that it wasn't a scarf but 7 yds of fabric. I will probably make several scarves, keeping one and selling the others on Etsy.
The photo on the right is of a beautiful dress from the 1940's probably. I know that you can't see all of the detail properly the way it is displayed, but trust me, it is gorgeous. I haven't decided if I will keep it or sell it. One thing is for sure though, whoever wears it should wear a nice full slip under it unless they want to be called a hussy...lol!Peacock's Treasures

Birds and The Wise Old Man
I am so excited to share with you a couple of my latest finds! But first, I want to let you know that my new air plants have arrived and I want to show those to you first.
| Airplants |
Here are my other treasures. These were part of a vintage teapot set, probably from the '40s or '50s. I didn't know that until I got them home and started researching them. One is the creamer and the other is the sugar bowl. I just thought that they were really cute.
Now, you may be wondering how birds, a wise old man, and air plants all tie in together? Let me show you:)
Aren't they cute...

Sailing
Peacok's Treasures
Peacock's TreasuresMy husband and I live very close to the Ocean and I have Always enjoyed sailing. I know what you're thinking...what a life, right? Not That kind of Sailing...lol. Garage Sailing. The best kind of sailing.
The kind of sailing where one has a real chance of find buried treasure. It is so exciting to read the ads and plan my route for the morning on the weekend. As I pull up in front of yet another sale, my heart beats faster, and my breath quickens...one would think I was in love:-) My husband and I used to tease one another about having the fever as the day wore on. The sailing fever that is...
Here is one of my finds from a recent sailing expedition. The young man that sold it to me actually said that the green colored bowl was part of a chip and dip set. I didn't know what it was for sure, but had a feeling it was something good. I kept trying to figure out how it would work for chips and dip and where Was the dip part anyway? Also, the etching on the bowl seemed to be a little fancy for a chip dish.
Here's what it turned out to be: It's a vintage Fostoria compote bowl. Royal - Plate Etching #237 (1925-1934) (Amber, Blue, Green, Crystal) - This striking etching was introduced in 1925 in blue. Blue continued to be produced until 1928. Because Blue was made for such a short time it is hard to find and very desirable. Amber, Green, and Crystal were made from 1925 until 1934 and are popular but not quite as hard to find as blue.
Did I mention buried treasure?
